The aluminium tube Go Green! is unique

Aluminium is a material that hardly finds an opponent. It is because aluminium can be reused over and over again so that it is possible to create new products with a minimal impact on the environment.Simply, aluminium is one of the third millennium metals. It is renewable from 100 %. To recycle aluminium, it is necessary to use just 5 % of energy that is needed to produce a primary metal for the first time.

Long-lasting packaging

An aluminium tube allows us to be used for various purposes and repeatedly can be changed into primary aluminium. The purity of aluminium enables up to 100% recyclability, without any loss of original properties. This process of long-term sustainability can be turned into full circle because we have possibility to influence the production of an aluminium tube from its mere beginning.

The tube Go Green! is produced from 100% recycled aluminium. Waste that is left during production of an aluminium tube is consequently utilised and is used for production of an aluminium slug. An aluminium slug is the main input for production of an aluminium tube. A tube and also a cap both used for Go Green! tube are 100% PCR material (post consumer recycled material). The message of Go Green! tube is „reuse, reduce, recycle“ because the future is in our hands :-)

Consistent and responsible approach to our planet

Slowly but surely, people are becoming more interested in environmental aspects. Global challenges are becoming our own and the ambition to long-term sustainability motivates us to carefully perceive many other values of products than just their price and quality. This approach with regard to long-term sustainability is an inseparable part of our business strategy. We believe that constant innovation goes hand in hand with progress and economic results. Therefore we aim to accomplish our goals with considering our values as well.

Long-term sustainability should be involved in our decisions and our actions. Long-term sustainability means we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. That is the reason why we try to incorporate following approach: “use but do not damage, conserve” into everyday work of our employees. We stress importance of the environment, for this reason employees are regularly educated in environmental issues.

Our steps towards long-term sustainability

Everyone of us should use resources we have the most efficiently we can, so we would be able to conserve the cycle of sustainability. There is no beginning nor end of the economic production process – it is an endless cycle – final products and technological waste had to fit again a starting point of the other production cycle. Therefore it is important to think and act with keeping in mind sustaining healthy future for following generations. Today, tomorrow and forever.

Waste volume reduction

The human kind (across the globe) produces approximately 2,12 billions of waste per year. Waste occupying our planet mainly consists of packaging of various kinds. We need to start to minimise waste by considering our choices and reducing consumption. In TUBAPACK we put much emphasis on recycling. Recycling bins have labels that motivate our employees to recycle waste. Waste consisting of wooden packaging, paper packaging and cardboard is recycled or sent to households where it finds its energetic and material use.

Utilisation of sustainable materials

Aluminium can be reused over and over again so that it is possible to create new products with minimal impact on the environment. Simply, aluminium is the metal of the future and that is the reason why it is also one of the third millennium metals. It is 100 % renewable. To recycle aluminium, it is necessary to use just 5 % of energy that is needed to produce a primary metal for the first time. Aluminium has irreplaceable manufacture qualities and enables sensible energy use.

ISO 14001

TUBAPACK is proud to have certificates ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001. Apart from certificates listed above we obtained not only  the Certificate of Compliance from national certification body (VÚSAPL) but also the Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). We pay a special attention to ISO 14001 – we understand importance of environmental aspects that are connected to a whole infrastructure of society and all the processes, so we can regulate the environmental impact and fulfil our main goal.

Recycling

Waste created during our business activities is being eliminated or recycled. From all the waste produced we are able to recycle up to 85 % (including technological plastics, glass, waste oils, metal packaging, paper packaging and cardboard). When it comes to recycling our waste, the most important element for us is aluminium waste. Technological waste from aluminium production is carried for secondary use. Therefore, aluminium waste is recycled up to 100 %. Recycling of aluminium is efficient and easy. To recycle aluminium, it is necessary to use just 5 % of energy that is needed to produce a primary metal for the first time.

Purification of polluted air and waste water

Emissions produced during production of aluminium tubes are trapped and consequently eliminated by heat (800°C) in thermal oxidizer for waste gases Enetex. As a consequence, the amount of emissions produced is cut to 98,5 %. Waste water is directed to wastewater treatment plants, where the waste water is biologically purified. This purified water is given back to nature.

Reutilisation of energy

During the process of minimisation of emissions in thermal oxidizer (the technology of direct combustion) Enetex, generated waste gas with temperature 200 °C goes through a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger absorbs thermal energy with an output of 100 kW. This thermal energy is then transformed and used for heating or cooling of interior parts of buildings of our company. This process of using energy can save up to 864 MWh of thermal energy.

EcoVadis

We became partners with national platform EcoVadis to support sustainability. Evaluation EcoVadis encompasses a broad spectrum of non-financial management systems including environmental impacts, human and worker´s rights, moral principles and sustainable public procurement. Evaluation criteria guide us in spheres that we can enhance and focus on our task toward sustainability and socially responsible business.

Using energy from renewable resources

We have our own photovoltaic power station consisting of 384 pieces of photovoltaic panels with an output of 100 kW. Thanks to solar panels we can generate 95 000 kWh of electric energy annually. This amount of energy is able to supply, for instance, regular consumption for 20 family houses for one year.

Carbon footprint reduction

We take into consideration that our processes also leave their mark on the environment. Our goal is to minimise a carbon footprint during production of tubes and at the same time to not squander opportunities we have access to. An annual measurement of carbon footprint is the base for improving our own processes, because it allows us to compare ourselves with other companies and continue in reduction of our greenhouse gases emissions. Aluminium is the cornerstone for low-carbon circular economy.

Energetic efficiency improvement

In 2014 our company executed a project of energetic efficiency improvement. We reduced energy-intensive activities through improving thermoisolation in the production hall and improved efficiency in usage of energy. It contributes to a decline in consumption of primary energy as well as energy costs reduction and toward mastering operational flexibility in our company.
